Always On VPN Enhancements
Always On VPN enforces that a VPN connection is always active during the Windows user session. When Always On VPN is enabled, a VPN connection is established automatically between the user's device and the SMA1000 appliance whenever the device has a network connection to the internet.
Once the Connect Tunnel is installed with Always On VPN enabled, a VPN connection is established. When the client and system restarts after a network change or system hibernation, both the client and system gets locked down, preventing users from disconnecting the VPN or accessing the internet without VPN.
In SMA1000 12.4.3, admin has the ability to provide internet access to users even if the VPN gets disconnected. Additionally, the admin can now control whether a user is allowed to disconnect from the VPN. This can be achieved with the following options:
- Allow user to disconnect
- Restrict network access when VPN is not Connected
