By default, OnDemand starts automatically when users log in to WorkPlace. Mapped mode enables users to click a shortcut that is configured for a specific application. Optionally, you can configure OnDemand to automatically launch a specified Web URL when users click a shortcut. This is useful for starting an application (such as a thin-client application) when OnDemand runs. You must manually create any shortcuts to specific applications. Mapped mode is supported on Windows, MacOS, and Linux platforms.
On Windows PCs, when a user logs in to WorkPlace for the first time, WorkPlace automatically downloads, installs, and launches OnDemand on the user’s computer (assuming the community the user belongs to is configured to do so). On subsequent WorkPlace logins, WorkPlace automatically starts OnDemand.
