Host Connectivity Testing

From 12.4.2 onwards, you can test all the resource hosts or URLs for connectivity. This feature helps to secure the system and verifies the backend configured host certificates.

The following servers and resource hosts are tested.

  • SonicWall systems:

    • geows.global.sonicwall.com and lm2.sonicwall.com (CMS only)

    • software.sonicwall.com

    • wsdl.sonicwall.com

      software.sonicwall.com and wsdl.sonicwall.com are available by default for testing.

  • NTP servers

  • Intune back end:

    • login.microsoftonline.com

    • graph.microsoft.com (when intune enabled)

  • URL resources (both https and http).

  • Serverfarm resources.

  • Host resources (verify DNS names are resolvable in configured DNS)

  • Authentication Servers:

    • AD basic/LDAP (primary/secondary servers)

    • AD advanced (KDC and GC DNS entries)

    • Radius/Defender UNPW (verify hostnames resolve)

    • Radius/Defender Token (verify hostnames resolve)

    • LDAP Certificate

    • AD/LDAP/ADTree over SSL

  • SMS Service Providers.

  • SMTP Server.

  • Syslog Server(s)

To test configured hosts

  1. In the AMC, navigate to Monitoring > Troubleshooting.

  2. Click the Host tab.

    All the configured resource or host urls are displayed.

  3. To test all the resources, click Test all.

    Or

    To test required resource, select the required host (already configured in AMC) checkbox and click Test selected.

    Or

    To test custom resource, which is not configured in AMC, select the type of protocol and enter the URL to test and click Test this Host.

    The successful and failed tests results are displayed under Status.

  4. For the failed tests, click on the resource and expend to see the error for failure.
