Configuring Global Overrides in AMC

Prerequisites:

  • SMA/CMS running 12.4.2 firmware versios.

To configure global overrides in AMC

  1. In the AMC, navigate to System Configuration > Maintenance.

  2. Append ?advanced=1 in the URL.

    The Advanced section with Configuration Extensions and Apply All options are displayed.

  3. Under Configuration Extensions, click Configure.

  4. Click the Global Overrides tab.

  5. Configure the following settings:

    Settings Descriptions
    ESP Mode

    To troubleshoot if some service or application or resource is not working.

    • Do not use ESP mode

    • Use for all network traffic

    • Use for UDP traffic only

    • Use realm value

    To leave the community-specific settings intact, select the Use community value option.

    Software Updates

    To set the policy for connect tunnel software updates.

    • Manual

    • At Users discretion

    • Required

    • Forced

    • Use realm value

    To leave the community-specific settings intact, select the Use community value option.

    Limit Session length to credential lifetime
    • True: To terminate the tunnel client sessions in this community and require to re-authenticate after the same length of time.

    • False: To keep the established Connect Tunnel session active and never terminated by the appliance.

    To leave the community-specific settings intact, select the Use community value option.

    Enable accounting records
    • True: To enable accounting records, irrespective of what is set at individual realm level.
    • False: To disable accounting records for all the realms, irrespective of what is set at individual realm level.

    To leave the realm-specific settings intact, select the Use realm value option.

  6. Click Save and apply pending changes.

    AMC displays a message bar warning on top right when any global overrides are in effect.

    Clicking on the warning takes the admin directly to the overrides page.

Some important notes on the Global Overrides settings:

  • If the global variable is configured or in use, then you can access the Global Override settings directly clicking the Global overrides enabled warning message. Note that you need not add any special URL.
