Exporting the Current Configuration to a Local Machine

You can export your complete set of appliance configuration data to a local machine. Only saved changes are included; changes that are pending when you export a configuration are discarded.

You cannot extract readable configuration data from .aea files.

You can enable to include third party agents to export the configuration of third party agents such as, Citrix and VMware View clients.

To export the current configuration

1. In the AMC, navigate to System Configuration > Maintenance.

2. In the System Configuration section, click Import/Export.

3. Click Export.

   The Export Configuration page displays, and a File Download prompts you to open the SonicWallSMAAppliance-_<firmware version><date>-<nnn>.aea file or save it to your hard drive. For example: virtual98.sea.eng.sonicwall.com_12.4.2-05073_20220629-201659.

4. Click Save, browse to the correct directory, and then save the .aea file.

5. Click OK on the Export page.
