Wireless Network Manager Administration Guide

RF Monitor

The RF Monitor feature provides Radio Frequency (RF) improvements to support spectrum visualization and analytics. The RF interference can be better mitigated through the improved tools available on the RF Monitor screen.

These include automated RF channel interference detection, and powerful tools for administrators needing to troubleshoot at deeper layers of the RF environment, and perhaps manually adjust radio settings.

One of the columns of data collected is the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator). This is an indication of whether the signal is strong enough to get a good connection.

RF Monitor is disabled by default.

To activate RF Monitor

  1. Navigate to Policies > AP Policies.
  2. Select the AP policy for which you want to enable RF monitoring.
  3. Navigate to Policies > Policy Hierarchy > WIDP.
  4. Activate RF Monitoring.
  5. Change the duration of the Measurement Interval (Seconds) if you want it to be different from the default value.
  6. Click OK.
