NetExtender Troubleshooting
This chapter provides you with help troubleshooting information for the SonicWall NetExtender utility.
- Problem: NetExtender cannot be installed.

Solution:

NetExtender Windows, check that the user has administrative privileges. NetExtender Windows can only be installed under the user account with administrator privileges.

NetExtender Windows, The event logs in the EventViewerfound under the Windows > ControlPanel > Administrator Tools folder. Select Applications and System events and use the Action /Save Log File menu to save the events in a log file.

NetExtender Linux, run "uname -a" to check if the correct installer is used for OS architecture.

NetExtender Linux, check the OS information in /etc/OS-release,and make sure it is on the supported list.

- Problem: NetExtender cannot connect.
- Solution:
NX Windows, run "services.msc" to check if the "SonicWall NetExtender Service" is running.
NX Windows, Go to "Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections" to check if the VPN adapter has been created.
NX Windows, check the log by exporting logs. if failed to export, please go to C:\ProgramData\SonicWall\NetExtender to view manually.

NX Linux, check the log by exporting logs. If failed to export, please go to /var/log/SonicWall/NetExtender to view manually.
NX Linux, run "systemctl status NEService" to check if the service is running.
NX Linux, run "ifconfig" to check if the VPN tun adapter is created.
- Problem: NetExtender Linux cannot be launched.
- Solution:
Check the os information in /etc/OS-release.
Run ldd - version to check the glibc version, if it is greater than glibc 2.28.
Check if a dependency named ldconfig exists by running "ldconfig".
Check the webkit2gtk version.
