Firmware files have an extension of .sig, e.g., sw_firmware.sig.

  2. Login to the Active device and navigate to System > Settings.
  3. Click Export to save the current configuration to a file and save it to a location on your local disk.

  4. On the System > Settings page, under the Firmware Management section, click Upload New Firmware.
  5. Browse to where you saved the firmware file, select the file, click Upload, and then click Accept.
  6. Hover the mouse on the new Firmware and click the Boot Firmware icon.

  7. In the Boot Firmware dialog box, Click Boot.
  8. At the same time, the Active device reboots with new firmware. Log in to the Standby device (which is Active now) and navigate to System > Settings.
  9. Follow steps 3 to 7 to upload the new firmware and reboot the Standby device.

After rebooting both active and standby devices, the new firmware will upgrade to an HA Pair.

The following steps are only to upgrade SMA100 Hardware Series firmware in a High Availability (HA) pair for SMA 400/410:

  1. Download the latest firmware at mysonicwall.com and save it to a location on your local disk.

Firmware files have an extension of .sig, e.g., sw_firmware.sig.

  2. Login to the Active device and navigate to System > Settings.
  3. Click Export to save the current configuration to a file and save it to a location on your local disk.
  4. On the System > Settings page, click Upload New Firmware.

  7. In the Boot Firmware dialog box, Click Boot.
  8. Wait for the Active device to reboot with the new firmware. Once the Active device has rebooted, reboot the Standby device (which has now taken the active role).

The step must be done as the active device will not automatically take over the active role of the standby device.

  9. After rebooting the Standby device, navigate to High Availability > Settings in the Active device. Scroll down, click Synchronize Firmware, and then click Accept.

The current firmware uploaded from the Active device will be uploaded to the Standby device, which will be rebooted with the new firmware and current settings.
