How to upgrade SonicWaves on WNM

Description

This article explains how to upgrade SonicWaves manually on WNM.

There are 3 methods to do it.

 NOTE: The upgrades mentioned in this article are for SonicWaves managed by the cloud (WNM). The firmware downloaded on the cloud can not be used in firewall managed Access Points.

Resolution

Method 1

  1. Download the firmware version for the SonicWave. How to download SonicWave firmware on WNM
  2. In order to apply manually a firmware version, is necessary to access the Access Point on the local network. (Accessing WNM managed Access Point from a local network)

    1. With the access of the AP navigate to System|Firmware & Settings|HTTP - Select and Upload New Firmware|Choose the file and Upload the firmware and click OK. The Access Point will reboot with the new firmware.

Method 2

  1. Login to WNM
  2. Navigate to Network | Devices
  3. Find the SonicWave to be upgraded.
  4. Hover over it and on the right side click Upgrade.

  5. The SonicWave will reboot with the latest production available firmware version.

Method 3

  1. Login to WNM
  2. Navigate to Settings | Firmware
  3. In the Access Point tab, Production, click upgrade on the right side, selecting the desired SonicWave model.

  4. All SonicWaves with the model selected will be rebooting with the latest production firmware version.
