How can I install GMS software on a Windows system?

This article describes where to download and how to install of the GMS Software on a Windows System.

1. Login to your mysonicwall.com account.
2. Navigate to Download Center>By Product Line section 
3. Select Software Type: "GMS - Windows" from drop-down list.
4. Click  to download the version you wish to install and save the file in your local drive.
   
5. Run the installation file which you downloaded. It may take several seconds for the Install Anywhere self-extractor to initialize.
   

   NOTE: Run the .exe as Administrator

6.   The first page in the installation software is just a greeting message, so click  Next  button.

   

7. License Agreement: Read and accept the license by enabling I accept the terms of the License Agreement  radio button, then click Next button.

   
   
   

8. Choose Install Folder: Choose the installation folder. You can choose any drive you wish to use. Click Next.

   
   
   

9. SonicWall Universal Management Suite Settings: Then you need to choose the IP address on which GMS 8.1 will be listening. This has to be one of your GMS server IP address (Note: Do not enter the IP address of your SonicWall UTM product here). Click Next.

   
   
   

10. Choose the ports that you want to use for GMS Management. Click Install.

    
    
    

11. Windows firewall might be blocking some features. Click Allow access to allow the features associated with GMS 8.1.

    
    
    

12. After this the installation is on its way. Wait for few minutes and installation should be completed.

    
    
    

13. Once the installation is done, you will see this warning message. It is just to remind you to authorize some traffic through your server’s firewall if you wish GMS to work correctly by clicking OK.

    

14. Important Registration Information: This is an update regarding the web access and registration of GMS from server, this has important note regarding the registration difference between Analyzer & GMS. Click Next button.

    

15. Installation Complete: To complete installation, the server needs to be restarted. Select Yes, restart my system radio button and click Done.
