SonicWall UTM throws an error : " Invalid Authentication " Error: SN and EPAID Do Not Match

Description

When attempting to register the device, the error "Invalid Authentication. SN and EPAID do not match" appears.

Resolution

Please follow the steps below :

1. If the error "Invalid Authentication. SN and EPAID do not match" appears when attempting to register the device, the following steps should be taken to resolve it: (Please note that the firewall will restart.)

2. Open the firewall's diagnostics page (e.g., https://10.0.0.241/sonicui/7/m/mgmt/settings/diag).

NOTE: The IP address 10.0.0.241 is used as an example of the firewall's LAN IP. Your firewall's LAN IP may be different, so be sure to adjust accordingly when configuring your settings.

3. Click on Internal Settings, press CTRL + F on your keyboard, and search for “Reset Licenses”.

4. Click on the Reset Licenses & Security Services Info button.

 Note : The device will notify you that a restart is required.

5. After restarting the device, open the management interface and navigate to Device > Settings > Licenses. Register the firewall using the same credentials you use to log in to mysonicwall.com.

6. The list of licenses should now be visible.
