How to Export System Events for a firewall in NSM?

Description

Prerequisite for Viewving System Event Logs in NSM:

  • NSM Advanced License.
  • Gen 7 Models

 

Steps to Export System Events for a firewall in NSM:

1. Login to cloud.sonicwall.com

2. Go to Firewall->Inventory->Click on the firewall name from the list, this will take us to the Firewall View.

3. Click on Monitor->Logs->System Logs.

4. Click on Export to export it in CSV format.

NOTE: System Events are stored for upto 365 days, which can be fetched in NSM for a period of 30 days, provided firewall has NSM Advanced License on it. So even if a firewall is rebooted, the system events prior to the reboot can still be fetched from NSM.

For TZ 80 firewalls which follow the new licensing mechasim, the storage of System Events will vary  depending upon the number of days the device is licensed for Analtics and Reporting rangining from 7 days upto 365 days.
