How to enable Classic View GUI format on 6.5 and 7.X firmware?

Description

This article helps you to change the GUI view style on 6.5 and 7.X firmware.

This feature is to help you switch to the classic view so that if you do not find any GUI option or having difficulty finding certain options, you can use this. It would be best to learn the options on the new GUI as they are going to be used hereafter.

Resolution for SonicOS 7.X

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.




  1. On the 7.X firmware, there is a significant GUI change and the options are rearranged to make it easier for configuration.
  2. We have the option to use the classic view by a click of a single button that is located on the right-hand top corner, as shown below. The toggle switch should remain ON for a contemporary view and OFF to go to classic view.

  3. After clicking that button we see the 6.2 and earlier style GUI.

    NOTE: NSv running on SonicOSX 7.0 do not support a switch between contemporary and classic views and only support Contemporary view.

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.5 firmware.







  1. Once we upgrade firmware to 6.5.X.X on our SonicWall Appliance, the GUI will change.
  2. We have the option to revert back to the old GUI view style by a click of a single button that is located on the bottom left-hand corner, as shown below. You can click on the same button to revert back the changes and use the contemporary view.

  3. After clicking the switchback button we see the 6.2 and earlier style GUI.
