How to deploy an older version of NSv in Azure?

Description

Step 1. Access https://portal.azure.com/#create/Microsoft.Template/uri/https%3A%2F%2Fraw.githubusercontent.com%2Fsonicwall%2Fsonicwall-nsv-azure-templates%2Fmaster%2FmainTemplate.json

Step 2. The page will be redirected to Azure login page. Then login to Azure.

Step 3. After login, it will be a custom deployment page. Fill in the necessary part. The most important parts are Image Sku and Image Version. Image Sku should be filled with “snwl-nsv-byol-654”, as shown below, while Image Version should be filled with version index ("6.5.1519"). Make sure to use the right VM Size based on your requirements. Minimum VM size requirements are available in the NSv getting started guide.

Then accept the terms and click Purchase button.

Step 4. Wait until the deployment is done

NOTE: To upgrade the deployed brand new Gen6 NSv firewall to the latest firmware version, go to the new Virtual Machine in Azure, in the left menu go all the way to the bottom and click Serial Console. Once it connects, login with the management user and the password provided in the template during deployment. Once there, you should see a red screen (the screen may be hard to read, so you can connect via SSH using putty to the public IP), scroll down to System Update, hit enter, then hit enter again, scroll up to Yes and hit enter again.

EXTRA NOTE: To check the images available on Marketplace by Sonicwall, open CloudShell, run Bash and run the below command:

“az vm image list --output table --all --publisher sonicwall-inc”
