Does SonicWall UTM support Multicast PIM-SM, PIM-DM?

The SonicWall UTM cannot act as a multicast router. But it can be configured as a multicast proxy. After enabling Multicast on the firewall it should support both PIM-SM and PIM-DM traffic proxy. Also, policy based management is able to be applied on the traffic.

To define the PIM service object, navigate to Firewall | Service Objects, click Add, in the protocol pull-down menu, select PIM(103). Also select the proper item from the Sub Type pull-down menu as required. 

To enable Multicast, follow the steps below:

Step 1. Navigate to Firewall Settings | Multicast, select the checkbox next to Enable Multicast, then click Accept button on the top.

Step 2. Navigate to Network | Interfaces, click the configure button of the interface which you want to support multicast. Then in the Edit Interface window, click Advanced tab, select the checkbox next to Enable Multicast Support.
