How To Check Peak Connections from CLI (Command Line Interface)

Description

Peak Connections may reach the Max Connections value if the SonicWall handles too many connections at any time. When this happens the firewall will lock by design and no connections will be available anymore. Access to the GUI may also be lost.

Following procedure shows, how to check Peak Connections and compare its current value with Max Connections from CLI, while Web management is not available.

Resolution

  1. Log in to CLI using SSH Client (i.e. Putty) or Console, click here to access the SonicWall Security Appliance via CLI.
  2. After Login, type "show status" command and press Enter. It will show firewall status page as presented below:

NOTE:

* In the above example Peak Connections reached Max Connections.

* CLI based check is the only way to access the SonicWall before rebooting the firewall.
