How do I transfer licenses from faulty unit to replacement unit after RMA?

Description

This article will outline the steps needed to process an RMA service transfer.

The RMA service transfer will be completed automatically by the system once the replacement unit is shipped out. If in case the license transfer is not performed by the system, You must contact Customer Service to request license transfer from the faulty unit to replacement unit.



Resolution

  1. Provide the Serial Number of your faulty unit and replacement unit, the Technical case number and the RMA number requesting to complete the RMA service transfer.
  2. The serial number of your replacement device needs to be registered to the same My SonicWall account as the faulty one.
  3. Customer Service will determine if the request is able to be approved and contact you regarding any questions or concerns.

 The license transfer process will be take 24 to 48 hours to be completed.
