Preparing the Windows Server System

Before installing a SonicWall NSv Series virtual machine, prepare the Windows Server system:

• Install Windows Server 2012 or 2016.

• Install the Hyper-V Role in the Windows Server system. Refer to the instructions at:

  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/virtualization/hyper-v/get-started/install-the-hyperv-role-on-windows-server

• Connect the Windows Server system to an external switch.
