SSO offline due to a Windows log on failure (Managed Service Passwords)

Description

SSO was running correctly but has stopped working after few weeks. In Environments, using Managed Service Passwords, where the Window service passwords are rotated every few weeks by design, the SSO logon must be updated again.

Resolution

Troubleshooting:

  • Check the SSO status from firewall
  • Device | Users | Settings |Configure SSO - SSO status is offline.Image
  • Run a SSO test under SSO Configuration.
  • Test – Test Status: ‘’Test result SSO agent did not respond ‘’Image
  • From the Windows server the SSO agent is not running and getting error similar to: Image


  •     Try to Start/Restart ‘’SSOAgentService’’ from Windows Services. If you get an error similar to ‘’The service did not start due to a logon failure’’ go to the next step.

  •     If you were using a Windows password that rotates, and it was changed, then SSO logon will need be update the new password as well.
  •     Right click over SSOAgentService – Properties – Log On – introduce the new password, then Start SOAgentServiceImage
  •     Finally run SSO agent again. It should be appear as Connected and online from firewall.
