There are two ways to upgrade the SonicWall switch firmware from Switch UI.

NOTE: This method requires you to download the switch firmware from your MySonicWall account.
- Log in to the switch and navigate to System | Firmware images.
- The Switch has 2 partitions and each partition can be on a different firmware. Select the Partition that you want to upgrade.
NOTE: By default active partition is selected.
- Select the upgrade method as Upload file from the Upgrade method drop-down list.
- Browse and select the Firmware. Click Apply to apply the firmware. This will cause the Switch to load the firmware into the memory and reboot.
- Post reboot the switch will run on the new firmware.
Firmware upgrade by selecting a firmware from SonicWall Cloud Server.
NOTE: For this method to work, we need to make sure that the switch has internet connectivity.
- Log in to the switch and navigate to Routing | Static Routes and make sure you have a default route.
- Navigate to System | Network | DNS and configure DNS servers.
- Navigate to System | Firmware images and Select the Partition that you want to upgrade.
- Select the upgrade method as SonicWall Cloud Server from the Upgrade method drop-down list
- Select the Firmware from the Available Firmwares drop-down list.
NOTE: It might take a minute or two to populate the firmware list. You can click on the refresh option in front of the Available Firmwares section to force the switch to query the cloud server.
- Click on Apply to apply the firmware. This will cause the Switch to load/download the firmware into the memory from the cloud server and reboot.
- Post reboot the switch will run on the new firmware.
