Safemode is needed at times with On-Prem NSM, mainly when doing firmware updates. This article provides steps on how to do this.
Resolution
Log into your Virtual environment and open the Orange CLI
Select the "Reboot | Shutdown" option, hit enter then scroll down to "Boot NSM into safemode" and click "Enable". Click on "Yes" to confirm the safemode boot.
A prompt stating NSM is in the process of rebooting into Safemode will appear.
Browse to the NSM IP address and the safemode page will appear. NOTE: It will require http and not https to see this page
On the Safemode page, we can see the current firmware version and also upload and boot to new NSM firmware images.
On the Application Backups tab, we can create and upload backups as well.
On the Diagnostics page basic system information can be seen
To download the Safe Mode logs, click "Download System Logs", On the top right side of the page,
The Administration page is used for selecting the language NSM will use for administration.
In the drop down select options for English or Japanese.
When done using Safemode, click the Exit Safe Mode option
Then click OK on the approval pop up when it appears.
We can now log back into NSM in the normal running mode.
