How to enable HTTPS management over Global VPN

Description
Enabling remote management of the SonicWall security appliance over the Global VPN, lets you access the management interface of the appliance when connected to the internal network over the Global VPN client. This can be done based on the user who is connected to the local network via Global VPN client
Resolution
Resolution for SonicOS 7.X
This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.
The following example demonstrates the procedure to enable HTTPS Management over the Global VPN client.
- Click NETWORK in the top navigation menu
- Click on IPsec VPN | Rules and settings
- Edit the WAN group VPN policy
- Enable the option HTTPS in advanced tab, Management via this SA
Create a Firewall access rule from VPN to LAN to allow HTTPS management for the users with Administrator privileges
- Click POLICY in the top navigation menu
- Click on Rules and Policies | Access Rules
- Click on Add
- Click on Users | Local Users & Groups, navigate to the specific user for whom the administrator privilege is to be given
- Select Groups to Include SonicWall Administrator
- Navigate to Network | System | Interfaces, click interface to which you would like to allow management over Global VPN and enable HTTPS for user login.
NOTE: If in case user is not able to login to firewall in config mode when connected to Global VPN. This is because an admin is logged in already. You can pre-empty the admin, if inactivity timeout exceeds 10 mins or change to your expected time. After which Global VPN user can log in to firewall GUI in config mode, to do that go to Device | Administration | Login/Multiple administrators. Here navigate to Multiple administrators.

- Click Manage in the top navigation menu
- Click on VPN | Base settings
- Edit the WAN group VPN policy
- Enable the option HTTPS in advanced tab, Management via this SA
