How to check if GMS is receiving heartbeat messages from managed appliances

This article describes how to us the Real-Time Syslog monitor to capture Heartbeat syslogs from a SonicWall appliance that is having issues being acquired or showing down in GMS.

1. Login to GMS application Interface, GMS ip address/sgms, Go to Monitor tab and  Select Real-Time Syslog
   
   

Select the Settings button in the upper right
Check the box for Enable Syslogs Forwarding and click on Update
Write sn=serialnumber AND m=96 in Filter field and then click on Start button
Note: If this is an HA pair, the serial number being entered is the primary serial number, even if the secondary device is active.
Press the Start button to the left of the filter field

Alternatively, remove the m=96 from the filter field to see any syslogs coming from that serial number.
