How do I schedule a reboot on my firewall?

Description

Occasionally, you may want to schedule a reboot of the SonicWall appliance.  The SonicWall has features to schedule a restart at a specific time or to restart with a countdown timer.

Resolution

1. Access the SonicWall CLI and login to the administrator account.

TIP:  See How to login to the appliance using the Command Line Interface (CLI) for additional information.

NOTE: Do not access the configuration menu.  Your prompt should read: admin@firewall>  NOT admin@firewall#

2. Type the appropriate command based on your needs:

Restart at: YYYY:MM:DD:HH:MM:SS format

NOTE: The full numbered format is required-  4 digit year, 2 digit month, 2 digit day, 2 digit hour, 2 digit minute, 2 digit second

Restart in: # days/hours/minutes.

EXAMPLE: Restart in 7 hours

NOTE: It cannot be set to restart in hours and minutes, only one variable can be assigned.  To restart in 1 hour and 30 minutes, you would simply set it to restart in 90 minutes.
