How can I transfer licenses to my Secure Upgrade device after registration?

Description

When a Secure Upgrade device is registered, licenses can either be transferred immediately or postponed for up to 60 days. This article is intended to show how to process a Secure Upgrade or Promotional Trade-Up license transfer that was initially postponed.

Resolution

  1. Log on to www.mysonicwall.com.
  2. Select Product Management section on the left hand side. Then Click My Promotions.

  3. On this page, select Secure Upgrade under APPLICABLE PROMOTIONS.

CAUTION: Selecting "Secure Upgrade" under ACTIVE PROMOTIONS will only re-direct you to an informational page about the Secure Upgrade program 

    4. You should now see 3 columns; Trade-In Unit, Upgrade Unit, and Action. Locate the serial number of your Upgrade Unit. Verify that the Trade-In Unit serial number is correct and Click transfer icon under the Action Column.

 NOTE: If you do not see a serial number under Trade-In Unit, you will need to click the pencil icon in order to select it.

    5. Click the transfer services option.

CAUTION: Once the transfer is completed, the old device will be deleted permanently from the database and cannot be re-registered again under any Mysonicwall account. Please re-verify the serial numbers before you proceed with the transfer.

NOTE: Any default licenses (services that come along with the devices) on the old trade-in unit are not transferable to new upgrade unit. 

Default Services like:Global VPN Client,Global VPN Client Enterprise,SSL VPN,SSL-VPN Virtual Assist and WAN Acceleration Client.
Verify in your product list that the new device now shows all the correct licensing.
