GMS 8.2 / Analyzer 8.2 - Issue with resetting user passwords that contains special characters

Description

In GMS 8.2 / Analyzer 8.2,

When trying to change / update the password for a GMS management user from the login screen after the password has expired or by enabling the ‘change password’ option under the Console > Management > Users screen, GMS display the following error "Update failed: Invalid Input" due to the mishandling of non-alphanumeric characters.

Resolution

The issue has been reported on DTS 181556 and the fix will be included in GMS / Analyzer 8.2 SP1.

Here is a workaround to resolve the issue temporarily until GMS / Analyzer 8.2 SP1 is available.

  1. Login to the GMS / Analyzer (/SGMS) as the "admin" user
  2. Go to the Console > Management > user page and then select the corresponding user
  3. In the General tab, input new password values in the ‘New password’ and ‘Confirm password’ boxes
  4. Click Update

Note: Do not select "Change Password" box, leave it blank.

**If the default username of "admin" is experiencing this issue, applying Service Pack 1 to GMS/Analyzer 8.2 is required to resolve the problem.  The System Interface (/appliance) used to apply such upgrades is not affected by this issue.
