EX SSL-VPN: Aventail Access Manager (AAM) /Secure End Point Manager fails to upgrade on post Microsoft Security update KB2918614

Resolution

Problem Definition:

Upgrade of SMA Secure Endpoint Manager / Aventail Access Manager fails on Windows PC when UAC is ON. (With Windows Update KB2918614).

Resolution or Workaround:

SonicWall Engineering have found issue with upgrade of AAM / Secure Endpoint Manager on Windows machines with Security Update KB2918614SonicWall Engineering is currently working on high priority to address this issue. 

Workaround:

Uninstall SEM /AAM agents using ClientCleanup utility & reboot  the pc to try fresh installation of SMA /AAM agents during Workplace access. This article would be updated on time to time basis with SonicWall Engineering analysis and recommendations.

Note:  This issue even affects Windows 8.1  irrespective of UAC state.
