This article guides you through the configuration of the IP address, gateway address, preferred time setting, domain for your GMS installation and the Role Configuration post the GMS Virtual Appliance OVA Deployment.
To configure the GMS system:
1. Launch a browser and enter the URL of the virtual appliance, such as:
https://10.67.1.163
The first page of the System Configuration Wizard is launchd. Click Next to proceed with the configuration.
2. Configuring the network settings. Specify it to use Static IP and Click Next. You can use the same ip as configured in Web console or change it to a different one as required:
3. Set the Time and Click Next.
4. Verify the Settings and Click on Apply.
A Dialogue box will appear stating the changes performed and requiring a reboot.
5. The login page for the GMA Virtual Appliance will appear after the reboot. Login with the default.

6. The Installation Wizard will be launched post login for the Role Setup. Click Next.
7. Choose the type of install, Single or Distributed:
CAUTION: If planning to have a distributed setup later, then choose the type as Distributed. Once configured as All in One Server, it cannot be used for distributed deployment later.
9. Choose Reporting Type, Flow based or Syslog based. Click Next.
10. Shows the summary about the setup and click on Apply.
11. After the installation is finished, login to the GMS Virtual Appliance using the ip address on the browser. It will prompt to enter mysonicwall credentials to register the GMS Virtual Appliance. After filling in the details Press Submit.
12. A will appear for the GMS serial number, authentication code and Friendly name. Fill in the details and click on Register.
Once the registration is complete, we can start adding the firewalls to GMS.
