ICSA Q1 2022 Advanced Threat Defense (ATD) Certification Testing Report

Remarkable results for SonicWall Capture ATP with RTDMI shows zero false positives and 100% effectiveness for advanced threat detection.

It was a rare achievement for any company when SonicWall earned this fifth perfect score from ICSA Labs ATD testing, a leading third-party testing and certification body. It was also the ninth consecutive quarter that SonicWall Capture Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) sandbox attained certification from ICSA Labs.

SonicWall's Capture Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), with patented Real-Time Deep Memory Inspection (RTDMI), identified 100% of malicious threats without missing a single threat or posting any false positives for the entire year of 2021. Among cybersecurity companies that participate in independent ICSA Labs testing, few ever achieve two consecutive perfect scores. SonicWall had five. With cyberattacks in record numbers, rigorous testing of this kind is more important than ever.

What is ICSA Advanced Threat Defense Testing?

Standard ICSA Labs Advanced Threat Defense testing (ATD) evaluates vendor solutions that can detect new threats that traditional security products fail to notice. Verizon’s Data Breach Investigations Report shows that ICSA uncovers malicious threats to enterprises along with the primary threat vectors that can lead to breaches in enterprise testing. These tests evaluate the effectiveness of vendor ATD solutions in detecting these threats while minimizing false positives.

ICSA Lab reports reflect the results of one test cycle. ICSA Labs typically perform standard ATD testing cycles every quarter. These test cycles usually last between three and five weeks. Security solutions must undergo rigorous testing for three to five weeks to be eligible for certification. ICSA Labs tests advanced threat defense solutions through hundreds of runs during each test cycle, including mixed sets of new threats, lesser-known threats, and harmless applications and activities, which are continuously launched for the duration of testing.
