ICSA Q1 2021 Advanced Threat Defense (ATD) Certification Testing Report

Where the Winning Streak Begins: SonicWall Capture ATP received its first perfect score from ICSA Labs Advanced Threat Detection (ATD) certification testing.

SonicWall Capture ATP (Advanced Threat Protection) received a perfect score from ICSA Labs. Capture ATP with patented RTDMI (Real-Time Deep Memory Inspection) technology can catch more malware faster with a lower false positive rate than traditional behavior-based sandboxing methods. This fact can be seen in ICSA’s test results, as Capture ATP detected 100% of previously unknown threats with no false positives. This ICSA certification marks the fifth consecutive for SonicWall Capture ATP.

During the 35-day test cycle, ICSA conducted 1,471 tests against Capture ATP, mixing 580 new and little-known malicious samples and 891 innocuous applications. As a result, capture ATP correctly identified all malicious samples while allowing all clean samples, proving the solution’s effectiveness against unknown threats.

According to the report, “SonicWall Capture ATP did remarkably well during this test cycle — detecting 100% of previously unknown threats while having zero false positives.

In 2020, the COVID pandemic forced businesses to find new ways to conduct their operations. But it also revealed that cybercriminals were very adaptive to new workplace realities, almost as quickly as corporations. So, when adversaries are as agile as you are, third-party validation of your advanced security solutions is more critical than ever.

What is ICSA Advanced Threat Defense?

ICSA Labs Advanced Threat Defense (ATD) testing is aimed at vendor solutions designed to detect new threats that traditional security products miss. The test cycles evaluate vendor ATD solutions effectively to detect unknown and little-known threats while minimizing false positives.
