Cisco ASA devices deliver firewall capabilities in different form factors - standalone appliances, blades, and virtual appliances - for any distributed network environment. ASA also integrates with other security technologies such as IPS, VPN, and Unified Communications capabilities.
SonicWall firewalls integrate with Cisco ASA to support IPsec VPN interoperability, enabling SonicWall firewall users to establish site-to-site VPN tunnels with Cisco ASA firewalls.
Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) is a next-generation identity and access control policy platform that enables enterprises to enforce compliance, enhance infrastructure security, and streamline their service operations. The unique architecture of Cisco ISE allows enterprises to gather real-time contextual information from networks, users, and devices.
Cisco ISE solutions rely on the RADIUS protocol and SonicWall firewalls can be configured to act as a RADIUS accounting proxy. This provides a convenient integration for existing ISE solutions. RADIUS authentication packets are directed to the ISE solution and RADIUS accounting packets are directed to a SonicWall firewall. This allows the firewall to enforce user-based roles and policies to enforce traffic while providing seamless reporting from the ISE.
