Step 1:Check the activity of Link LED's of the corresponding interface.

i) Connect a computer directly to the interface and check if the activity of LED light is active.
ii) If the LED light is active check the status of the link in Network | Interface | Link Status shows up the Link speed.
iii) If Link speed shows up as "No link " follow the next step.

Step 2: Try to connect the computers using different cables and also try to connect different machines directly to the Sonicwall without any switch in between the SonicWall and the computers.

The interface which shows as "No link" should not be port shielded with any of the other interface,it should be either unassigned or assigned static IP address.

Step 3:  Loop back test

Use a cross over cable to check if the port is working or faulty, connect a cross over cable to one of the unused interface and the other end to the port which has issue.

i) If the activity of both the LED's are active, both the ports are working.
ii) If the activity of both the LED's are not active, the ports are damaged.
iii) If one of the port's LED is active then the LED indication is bad.

Step 4: Check if the port is enabled.
