SonicWall First to Offer Cyber Warranty

SonicWall now offers partners the ability to provide something to customers that no other firewall vendor offers – a cyber warranty!!!

by Chirag Saxena

Cyber Warranty Covers What the Firewall DOES

The Cyber Warranty covers losses that are the result of a security breach protected against by the firewall, including non-volumetric distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, unauthorized remote access and, for SonicWall-Managed firewalls only, software exploitation. These are business-income-impacting events that result in actual loss due to business interruption caused by the attacks. No other firewall includes protection against that!

Don’t They All Include a Warranty?

You’re thinking that every hardware product you’ve ever sold includes a warranty, and that’s true. But those are only actual hardware warranties that protect against things like defects and hardware failure. They cover everything the firewall is as a piece of hardware.

There Must Be Pre-Requisites…

Yes, there are. The SonicWall Cyber Warranty is only available on Gen7 firewalls, and TZ80 firewall security services sold and registered after November 1, 2024. Customers still running Gen6 and earlier will want to immediately upgrade not only for the new functionality of Gen7, but also for the financial protection available from this cyber warranty offering. To qualify for the warranty, you must follow the SonicWall Configuration Guide, telling you how to properly set up each firewall to prevent or reduce the likelihood of non-volumetric DDoS attacks,  unauthorized remote access, and software exploitation.

A Great Competitive Advantage

This doesn’t just benefit your customers. The ability to offer this highly differentiated feature to your clients clearly makes you, the SonicWall SecureFirst Partner, a beneficiary of this program too. The SonicWall Gen7 Firewall Cyber Warranty gives you a decided competitive advantage over others. You can give your customers peace of mind by ensuring proper hardware operation with the necessary configuration to qualify for warranty coverage. Additionally, you can now help protect your customers from the consequences of a firewall failing to perform its intended function.

The SonicWall Cyber Warranty Program

All Gen7 and newer firewalls sold and registered after November 1, 2024, through SonicWall and/or SonicWall’s authorized partners, will qualify for a first-in-industry no-cost warranty backed by cyber insurance company Cysurance ( https://www.cysurance.com/). The warranty will cover certain costs and reimbursements for business losses if a customer’s firewall is breached and business is disrupted, if required conditions are met. By implementing the security controls required to qualify for warranty coverage, SonicWall customers will enjoy a more secure environment and lower total cost of ownership (TCO). Properly configured SonicWall firewalls that qualify for warranty coverage substantially reduce the frequency, severity and impact of cyberattacks. SonicWall and Cysurance stand behind that claim by offering a no-cost program offering fiscal compensation for losses resulting from a covered event. More information and details on the exclusive SonicWall Cyber Warranty Program are available in the SonicWall Cyber Warranty FAQ.
