Meet SonicWall’s New CIO: Wayson Vannatta

Welcome Wayson Vannatta, SonicWall’s New CIO 

We’re thrilled to welcome Wayson Vannatta as SonicWall’s new Chief Information Officer (CIO)! With over 27 years of IT and security leadership, Wayson brings deep industry experience that will be key as we continue our transformation and strengthen our infrastructure, security posture and business applications to better support our global partners and customers. 

Wayson joins us at a pivotal moment, with organizations facing rising cyber threats, economic pressures and increasing demand for secure, scalable solutions. His leadership will help ensure our IT, security and application footprints stay agile, secure and aligned with our mission. 

A Proven Leader with Deep IT and Security Expertise 

Before SonicWall, Wayson was CIO at Nintex, where he transformed global IT, consolidated SaaS tools, cut costs by 20% and built a strong security foundation. At WatchGuard, he modernized customer-facing apps, built a hybrid cloud infrastructure, integrated four acquisitions, introduced centralized several key systems and overhauled a legacy licensing platform. 

Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at InfoSpace, where he led cloud migration, product engineering and M&A integration. He got his start in the United States Air Force as a systems administrator—laying the groundwork for the technical precision he’s known for today. 

As SonicWall’s CIO, Wayson will oversee global IT infrastructure, security, compliance, data and business application, and he will serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader to our thousands of channel partners around the world. With a background spanning cybersecurity, cloud transformation, and operational efficiency, Wayson will be a key part of SonicWall’s continued growth as a leader in providing a platform of cybersecurity tools to MSPs and partners serving the SME community. 

Wayson holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from St. Martin’s University and an MBA from Columbia College. His mix of tech and business expertise makes him a strong addition to our leadership team.
