VPN: Inconsistent Global VPN Client (GVC) Connection on Wireless Laptops
If you are unable to consistently establish a GVC connection using the Intel PRO Wireless adapter built into many laptops, follow these steps to work around the issue:

Users of Inspiron and Latitude laptops may be unable to establish successful GVC connections over their built-in wireless adapters, though the same connection attempts work without trouble over Ethernet. The affected wireless adapters are the Wireless 1350, 1450, 1390 and 1490 running the Wireless WLAN 4.10 or newer wireless network driver on all Windows XP operating systems.
